Dedication * Purpose

Our grandmothers or moms in America during bygone decades were home makers that crafted by hand lovely one of a kind linens for their home. They would embroider, crochet or sew textiles while they relaxed listening to music from a radio or watching television after the family was fed and the children were tucked into bed.

Women spent time relaxing and sewing textiles during an era when women were often judged by the quality of their needlework.They would decorate their home or gift the needlework they created to friends and family for a Bridal Trousseau, Wedding, Baby Shower,Baptism or Birthday.

These lovely one of a kind linens were so beautiful or elegant that they often went unused. They were "saved "and stored in dresser drawers or cedar chests. They were preserved for us to find and appreciate many decades later.

It is always fun for us to find these "made by hand treasures "and it is our pleasure to share pretty linens with others who also appreciate the artistry, glamor and decorative style of women who lived in a bygone era.

This vintage 2-3/4" gold tone brooch with a matching pair of clip on earrings is from the 1960 Era. Each flower has an aurora borealis crystal as a center stone. The earrings measure 1" in diameter. The set is unmarked and undamaged. This particular set can be found in many of the reference books on collectible costume jewelry.
